Analyst Performance Rating
The Analyst Performance Rating is an aggregate 12-month scorecard that measures an analyst's accuracy and the profitability of their recommendations. It is designed to reward consistent winners and penalize high-risk calls that fail to deliver.
Scoring Factors
- • Accuracy of past verdicts
- • Profitability of recommendations
- • Consistency across market cycles
- • Listing vs Long-term performance
Confidence Adjustment
We apply a sample-size multiplier. Analysts with fewer than 20 reviews have their scores adjusted until they build a robust track record. N < 5 results in an "Early Track Record" status.
The Tiers
IPO Sentiment Score
The Sentiment Score reflects the collective wisdom of analysts for a specific IPO. Unlike a simple average, we use a weighted consensus model.
The "Skin in the Game" Weighting
Opinions from Top-Ranked analysts carry up to 3x more weight than those with mixed records. This ensures that the consensus is driven by experts who have historically been right.
Sentiment Tiers
Performance Buckets
We classify every IPO outcome into four distinct buckets based on Listing Gain and Total Gain (%) to measure how well analyst verdicts align with actual market returns.
| Bucket | Gain Percentage | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| BIG WIN | ≥ +25% | Exceptional listing/profits |
| WIN | +10% to < +25% | Positive market return |
| FLAT | −10% to < +10% | Limited gain or safe exit |
| BAD | < −10% | Significant capital loss |
