What our data shows
The GMP was ₹8 on 3 November, about 9.8% above the issue price of ₹82. It has stayed between ₹7 and ₹9 since the issue opened. GMP is an unofficial grey market number, not an exchange price. On the last 10 mainboard listings it was off by about 5 percentage points on average.
What the company does
Bombay Coated and Special Steels is a steel processing company. It buys steel coils and cuts them into slit coils, blanks and sheets. Its biggest buyers are appliance makers.
The issue is entirely fresh, so all the money goes to the company. About ₹125 crore is meant to repay borrowings. Another ₹18 crore is for equipment now held on lease.
Who ran the issue
The lead manager is Smart Horizon Capital Advisors. On our records, 7 of its 10 earlier listings opened above the issue price. Its average listing gain was -0.9%. That is a record of past issues, not a view on this one.
