About

About ASK Investment Managers

ASK Investment Managers Limited is the holding company of the ASK Asset & Wealth Management Group, based in Mumbai. The group says it was founded in 1983 by Sameer Koticha, who is now Chairman. It began as a small equity research and advisory practice and has grown into an integrated asset and wealth manager. Its registered office is in Worli, Mumbai. The business has three main arms. ASK Private Wealth advises high net worth and ultra high net worth families and family offices. ASK Asset Management runs portfolio management services and mutual fund style products. ASK Alternates runs alternative funds, including real estate and long-short strategies. As of 31 March 2026, total AUM stood at ₹77,530 crore. The annual report puts gross AUM of the wealth business at ₹54,891 crore and asset management AUM at ₹15,446 crore. The company also received final approval for its mutual fund business during FY26. On a consolidated basis, revenue from operations for FY26 was ₹86,903.27 lakh against ₹1,03,772.16 lakh in FY25. Profit after tax before minority interest fell to ₹9,722.89 lakh from ₹44,355.37 lakh. Basic EPS was ₹11.67 against ₹51.86. These are consolidated numbers from the audited FY26 annual report. Blackstone acquired a majority stake in the group, and several Blackstone executives sit on the board as nominee directors. The board has nine directors, including three independent directors. The company is unlisted and has not announced an IPO in the data we hold. Unlisted shares of a company like this trade off-market between private buyers and sellers, so prices are indicative and not discovered on an exchange. IPO Guru shows an indicative price of ₹825 per share with a lot size of 100 shares, which implies a market cap of about ₹7,217.94 crore. This is information only, not a recommendation.

Strengths

  • Total AUM stood at ₹77,530 crore on 31 March 2026, spread across wealth, asset management and alternatives, so income does not rest on one product.
  • The company reported a positive consolidated profit of ₹9,722.89 lakh in FY26 and EPS of ₹11.67, even in a year when markets were volatile.
  • The balance sheet is largely equity funded. Total equity was ₹1,71,434.78 lakh against total liabilities of ₹35,288.13 lakh at 31 March 2026.
  • Wealth gross AUM reached ₹54,891 crore, and the annual report says the relationship management team grew from 115 to 156 people.
  • The group received final approval for a mutual fund business, which adds a new product line to its existing portfolio management and alternatives platforms.
  • Blackstone holds a majority stake and has nominee directors on the board, alongside independent directors including Milind Barve.

Risks

  • Profit fell sharply. Consolidated profit after tax before minority interest dropped from ₹44,355.37 lakh in FY25 to ₹9,722.89 lakh in FY26.
  • Consolidated revenue from operations declined from ₹1,03,772.16 lakh in FY25 to ₹86,903.27 lakh in FY26, so growth was negative in the latest year.
  • Operating cash flow was negative at ₹3,317.55 lakh in FY26 on a consolidated basis, against a positive ₹21,114.21 lakh in FY25.
  • Total expenses rose to ₹73,748.48 lakh in FY26 from ₹68,306.42 lakh while income fell, which squeezed profit before tax.
  • The tax charge was ₹6,664.32 lakh in FY26 against a credit of ₹1,442.14 lakh in FY25, which makes the two years hard to compare.
  • Fee income depends on market levels and investor flows, so a weak equity market can reduce AUM and earnings quickly.
  • The company has started borrowing. Borrowings other than debt securities were ₹2,200.53 lakh and debt securities were ₹3,550.79 lakh at 31 March 2026.
  • The business is regulated by SEBI and others. The new mutual fund business needs heavy investment and carries execution risk.
  • The shares are unlisted. Prices are indicative, liquidity is thin and there is no exchange to confirm what a fair price is.
