About

About Bharat Hotels

Bharat Hotels Limited is a Delhi-based hospitality company. It was incorporated on 22 January 1981 and its registered office is at Barakhamba Lane, New Delhi. It operates under the brand The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group, with hotels such as The LaLiT New Delhi, The LaLiT Mumbai, The Lalit Grand Palace Srinagar, The Lalit Great Eastern Kolkata, The Lalit Jaipur and The Lalit Bekal. The company earns mainly from room rentals, food and beverages and banqueting. Its customers are business travellers, MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) groups, leisure tourists and wedding parties. In FY26 the board said disturbance in Kashmir hurt tourism for most of the year, which weighed on revenue. On a consolidated basis, revenue from operations was ₹879.94 crore in FY26, against ₹901.29 crore in FY25. Consolidated profit for the year rose to ₹11,486.23 lakh from ₹8,510.81 lakh, mainly because finance costs fell. The company repaid its debentures held by Kotak Investment Advisors in January 2026 and moved to a public financial institution for funding at better rates. Subsidiaries PCL Hotels Limited, Eila Holding Limited and Kujjal Hotels Private Limited have been amalgamated into the company. The promoters are Dr. Jyotsna Suri, who holds 9.55% directly, and Deeksha Holding Limited, which holds 40.42%. The promoter group also includes Mr. Jayant Nanda with 26.31% and Responsible Holding Private Limited with 9.35%, as per the shareholding table at 31 March 2026. The company has 75,991,199 equity shares of ₹10 each. The board has eight directors, including three independent directors. The company has not filed a DRHP with SEBI as far as IPO Guru's data shows, so there is no IPO date or price to speak of. Shares of a company like this are dealt off-market between private buyers and sellers, and the price shown on this page is only an indicative figure, not an exchange price.

Strengths

  • Profit rose even though sales fell. Consolidated profit for the year was ₹11,486.23 lakh in FY26 against ₹8,510.81 lakh in FY25, while revenue from operations moved from ₹901.29 crore to ₹879.94 crore.
  • Finance costs came down sharply. Consolidated finance costs were ₹13,507.81 lakh in FY26 against ₹18,860.41 lakh in FY25, after the company refinanced its debt at better rates.
  • Operating cash flow is strong against profit. Consolidated net cash generated from operating activities was ₹30,621.39 lakh in FY26, well above the year's profit.
  • Net worth is growing. Consolidated total equity was ₹105,909.60 lakh at 31 March 2026 against ₹94,458.59 lakh a year earlier.
  • Consolidated EBITDA before exceptional items was ₹35,761.16 lakh in FY26, which is a high share of revenue for a hotel business.
  • The group spreads across several cities and brands, including metro hotels, a palace hotel in Srinagar and a resort at Bekal, so one city does not carry all its revenue.
  • The promoter family holds a large block of the equity, with Deeksha Holding Limited alone at 40.42% at 31 March 2026.

Risks

  • Revenue fell in FY26. Consolidated revenue from operations dropped to ₹879.94 crore from ₹901.29 crore because of weak tourism in Kashmir.
  • EBITDA also fell. Consolidated EBITDA before exceptional items was ₹35,761.16 lakh in FY26 against ₹39,006.14 lakh in FY25.
  • Borrowings remain large. Consolidated non-current borrowings were ₹71,926.83 lakh and current borrowings ₹5,602.55 lakh at 31 March 2026.
  • Part of the FY26 profit growth came from lower finance costs and a lower tax charge, not from higher sales.
  • Hotel earnings depend on tourism and events, so security issues, weather or a slowdown in travel can hurt results quickly, as Kashmir showed in FY26.
  • The company did not recommend a dividend in view of the need to conserve cash, so shareholders get no dividend income at present.
  • Capital work-in-progress was ₹18,211.02 lakh on the standalone balance sheet, so new projects need further funding and time before they earn.
  • Shares are not listed. Prices are indicative, trades happen off-market, and there is no assured exit or IPO timeline.
