About

About Cremica Food Industries

Cremica Food Industries Limited is a packaged food company. It makes tomato ketchup, sauces, mayonnaise, sandwich spreads, salad dressings, syrups, jams, Indian chutneys and Opera Crisps potato crisps. The Cremica brand is sold in shops, supplied in bulk to restaurants and food service chains, and exported. The Cremica Group was started in 1978 by Mrs Rajni Bector, who turned her passion for ice cream making into a small backyard business. Over time the group moved into condiments and bakery products. According to the company's own website, it formed joint ventures with Quaker Oats (USA) for ketchup, mayonnaise and liquid condiments, and with EBI Foods (UK) for battering and breading mixes. It then became one of the biggest suppliers to McDonald's in India. The website says the group runs India's largest tomato ketchup line and is the country's largest producer of ketchup portion packs, able to pack 4 million sachets per day. It also says Cremica launched India's first vegetarian mayonnaise and Opera crisps, which it describes as India's first cottage style potato crisps. Products are exported to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the US and Australia. A newer launch is the BONHEUR range of French-style syrups. Akshay Bector is the Chairman and Managing Director. The registered company is a public limited company incorporated in Punjab, and its corporate office address on the website is in Okhla Industrial Estate, New Delhi. Cremica has not listed on a stock exchange and we have not found a filed DRHP for it. Its shares trade off-market through unlisted-share dealers. The indicative price here is ₹182 per share with a lot size of 2500 shares, which implies a market cap of about ₹1073.43 crore on 58979936 shares. Strengths

  • Wide condiment range across ketchup, mayonnaise, sauces, spreads, dressings, syrups, jams and chutneys, sold through retail, food service and exports.
  • The company says it is one of the biggest suppliers to McDonald's in India, which gives it a large institutional customer base.
  • Scale in portion packs: the website says the group is India's largest producer of ketchup portion packs, able to pack 4 million sachets per day.
  • Export reach: the company says its products go to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the US and Australia.
  • Past joint ventures with Quaker Oats (USA) and EBI Foods (UK) brought in product know-how, according to the company.

Risks

  • We could not read audited financials for this company, so revenue growth, margins, debt and cash flow are not verified on this page.
  • Food service sales may depend on a few large restaurant chains such as McDonald's, so losing or reducing a big customer could hurt volumes.
  • Tomato and edible oil prices swing with weather and season, which can squeeze margins in ketchup and mayonnaise.
  • The condiments market has strong competitors, including large listed FMCG companies and established national brands.
  • Food safety rules and quality failures can lead to recalls, penalties or damage to the brand.
  • The company is not listed. Unlisted share prices are indicative, trading volumes are thin and there is no guarantee of a future IPO or its timing.
