About

About GalaxEye Space Solutions

GalaxEye Space Solutions Private Limited builds satellites that watch the Earth. The company was founded in May 2021 by a team of engineers at IIT Madras. Its flagship project is Mission Drishti, which it describes as the world's first satellite to carry both a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sensor and a 7-band multispectral imager on a single platform. The idea is simple. Normal optical images are easy to read but get blocked by clouds and darkness. Radar images work in any weather, day or night, but are hard to interpret. GalaxEye combines the two, which it calls OptoSAR. The company says Mission Drishti will give a fused resolution of 1.8 m, with the SAR sensor going up to 0.9 m in spotlight mode, and that it is India's largest privately built satellite. The company's website lists defence, infrastructure monitoring, agriculture and change detection as the main uses. The company has moved in steps. It raised a seed round of $3.5 million in December 2022 and closed a Series A of $10 million in June 2024. It ran user trials of its Drishti sensor with the Indian Army's Northern Command in February 2024, won the iDEX-DIO challenge for satellite edge computing in June 2024, and flew a tech demo on the ISRO POEM mission in December 2024. Its website says Mission Drishti is scheduled to launch on a SpaceX Transporter mission and that it has acquired a company called StarOps. The founding team listed on the website is Suyash Singh (CEO), Denil Chawda (CTO), Pranit Mehta, Kishan Thakkar and Rakshit Bhatt. We have not been able to read audited financial statements or a shareholding table for the company from a primary source, so this page does not show revenue, profit or share count. GalaxEye has no IPO filing on record with us yet. Unlisted shares of a company like this are dealt off-market between private parties, so the price shown here is only an indicative level of ₹425000 per share, which gives an implied market cap of about ₹1254.81 crore on our data. It is not an exchange price.

Strengths

  • Mission Drishti combines a SAR sensor and a 7-band multispectral imager on one satellite, which the company calls the world's first commercial multi-sensor satellite of this kind.
  • The planned fused imagery resolution is 1.8 m, and the SAR sensor can reach 0.9 m in spotlight mode, per the company's technical specifications.
  • The company has completed funding rounds of $3.5 million (seed, December 2022) and $10 million (Series A, June 2024) according to its own timeline.
  • It has shown early traction with defence users: sensor trials with the Indian Army's Northern Command in February 2024 and an iDEX-DIO challenge win in June 2024.
  • A tech demo on the ISRO POEM mission in December 2024 gave it flight experience before its own satellite launch.
  • The company's website lists recognition including the Forbes Asia 100 to Watch list 2025 and the WEF Technology Pioneers cohort.

Risks

  • Mission Drishti is a single flagship satellite. A launch delay or a failure in orbit would hit the whole business plan.
  • We could not read audited revenue, profit or cash flow for the company from a primary document, so investors cannot judge from this page how large or profitable the business is.
  • Space hardware companies usually need repeated rounds of funding. The company has so far disclosed only a $3.5 million seed and a $10 million Series A, and further capital may dilute existing holders.
  • Defence and government agencies appear to be key early customers, so orders can be lumpy and depend on policy and procurement timing.
  • OptoSAR is a new product category. Commercial demand for fused SAR and optical data is unproven at scale, and larger global satellite imaging firms are competitors.
  • Satellite operations in India are regulated, and licences, export rules or data-sharing limits could change what the company may sell.
  • The company is a private limited company with no IPO date on record. Unlisted prices are indicative, trades are off-market, and shares can be hard to sell.
  • The implied market cap of about ₹1254.81 crore is based on a dealer price and a share count on our data, and neither is verified against a company document.
