About

About GKN Driveline India

GKN Driveline (India) Limited was incorporated on 25 July 1985 and has its registered office in Faridabad, Haryana. The company is engaged primarily in the manufacture and sale of driveshafts to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the automobile industry. It reports a single business segment, driveshafts. The company runs five manufacturing locations in India: Faridabad, Dharuhera, Oragadam, Pune and Kadi. Its annual report names Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Renault-Nissan, Bajaj Auto and Tata among the customers whose awards or audits the plants have cleared. In FY26 (year ended 31 March 2026) revenue from operations was ₹11,552.41 million, up 5.81% from ₹10,917.53 million a year earlier. EBITDA was ₹2,089.89 million, up 19.35%, which the board links to higher volumes and lower commodity prices. Profit for the year was ₹1,227.75 million against ₹971.75 million. These are the company's standalone audited figures. GKN Driveline International GmbH, Germany, holds 12,393,808 equity shares, which is 97.03% of the company. On 3 February 2026, Dauch Corporation completed its acquisition of Dowlais Group plc, the ultimate parent, so the ultimate holding company is now Dauch Corporation. The total share count is 12,773,061 equity shares of ₹10 each. The company is not listed on any stock exchange. Its shares trade off-market through unlisted dealers at indicative prices, not exchange prices. IPO Guru's indicative price is ₹1,725 per share with a lot size of 25, which gives an implied market cap of about ₹2,203.35 crore. This is a data point, not advice, and we have no information on any IPO plan from the company.

Strengths

  • Revenue from operations grew 5.81% to ₹11,552.41 million in FY26 and profit for the year rose to ₹1,227.75 million from ₹971.75 million.
  • EBITDA rose 19.35% to ₹2,089.89 million in FY26, helped by higher volumes and lower commodity prices, as stated in the board report.
  • The company has no borrowings from any lender. Its only financing obligations are lease liabilities.
  • Cash and cash equivalents stood at ₹888.00 million on 31 March 2026, up from ₹656.78 million a year earlier.
  • Net worth grew to ₹4,126.73 million from ₹3,326.24 million, driven by retained profit.
  • Operating cash flow was ₹978.58 million in FY26, close to the profit level, after ₹1,076.97 million in FY25.
  • Five plants across Faridabad, Dharuhera, Oragadam, Pune and Kadi serve automobile OEMs, and plants report quality awards from customers such as Maruti Suzuki and Bajaj Auto.

Risks

  • The company has one business segment, driveshafts for automobile OEMs, so it depends on vehicle demand. The board report calls the environment challenging, with volatile demand and supply chain issues.
  • Revenue growth of 5.81% in FY26 was modest, and a large part of the profit rise came from lower commodity prices and volume rather than price increases.
  • Operating cash flow fell to ₹978.58 million from ₹1,076.97 million even though profit rose to ₹1,227.75 million.
  • Finance costs rose to ₹66.82 million from ₹25.42 million, although the company reports no borrowings.
  • GKN Driveline International GmbH holds 97.03%, so the public holding is small and the parent controls decisions.
  • The ultimate parent changed to Dauch Corporation in February 2026, which could change group strategy.
  • A Q4 warranty issue with Maruti Suzuki carried a cost impact of $60,000, and a launch for the same customer was rescheduled to December 2026.
  • Unlisted shares are not traded on an exchange, so prices are indicative and buying or selling can be slow.
