About

About Goldi Solar

Goldi Solar is a solar energy company based in Surat, Gujarat. It was founded in 2011 by Captain Ishver Dholakiya, who is the Founder and Managing Director. The family comes from the diamond business and moved into solar after the founder saw its potential for clean energy. The main business is making solar photovoltaic modules. According to the company's own profile, it reached 3 GW of module capacity by the end of FY23-24 and plans 14 GW by mid-FY26. Its range includes mono and bifacial modules, DCR and non-DCR modules, and TOPCon bifacial modules. It also sells inverters in the 3.3KW-25KW range under the VAMA brand. Goldi runs factories at Pipodara, Navsari and Kosamba in Gujarat. The Pipodara plant is the oldest and runs on solar energy. Navsari has a 4 GW automated line, and Kosamba has a 4.6 GW line making TOPCon modules. The company also plans cell manufacturing of 4 GW by FY27, which would let it make its own cells instead of buying them. Beyond modules, Goldi has an EPC and rooftop business with 8000+ customers, and it builds solar projects for factories, mills and institutions. It has a workforce of 2500+ and says it ships to over 20 countries. In 2020 it received Bankable Tier 1 status from Bloomberg New Energy Finance, and in 2024 Kiwa PVEL named it a Top Performer. The company has filed a confidential DRHP with SEBI for a proposed IPO, so the issue size, price and dates are not public yet. Unlisted shares of a company like this are dealt off-market between private buyers and sellers, and the price on this page is only an indicative figure of ₹335, not an exchange price. The lot size is 1000 shares. This page does not show financials because the company's published annual reports could not be read as text.

Strengths

  • Scale in modules: the company's profile shows module capacity growing to 14 GW from 3 GW at the end of FY23-24, spread over plants at Pipodara, Navsari and Kosamba in Gujarat.
  • Export reach: Goldi says it ships to more than 20 countries, which spreads its sales beyond the Indian market.
  • Quality recognition: it received Bankable Tier 1 status from Bloomberg New Energy Finance in 2020 and was named a Top Performer by Kiwa PVEL in 2024.
  • Newer technology: the Kosamba line has 4.6 GW of capacity making TOPCon modules, and the company lists TOPCon bifacial modules of up to 595WP.
  • Wider business mix: besides modules it sells inverters and runs an EPC business with 8000+ customers, so it is not only a module seller.
  • Planned backward integration: it plans 4 GW of cell manufacturing by FY27, which would reduce dependence on bought-in cells.

Risks

  • No financials were read: the annual reports on file could not be read as text, so revenue, profit and debt for this company are not shown on this page.
  • The capacity numbers, including 14 GW and 4 GW of cells, come from the company's own profile and include plans, not only plants already running.
  • Cell manufacturing of 4 GW by FY27 is still a plan, and building it needs large capital spending and technical skill.
  • Solar module makers face fast price changes and heavy competition, which can squeeze margins when module prices fall.
  • The business depends on policy support such as domestic content rules (DCR), so a change in government policy can affect demand.
  • The IPO is only at the confidential DRHP stage, so there is no public offer document yet with full risk factors, and the listing may not happen on any set date.
  • Unlisted share prices are indicative, trade off-market with low liquidity and may differ a lot from the price at which the IPO happens.
  • Founder and family hold a central role in the company, so decisions may depend heavily on a small group of people.
