About Hira Ferro Alloys
Strengths
- Revenue from operations rose to 59560.09 lakh in FY25 from 34560.89 lakh in FY24, as ferro alloy turnover grew to 52800.33 lakh.
- Profit after tax was 3076.79 lakh in FY25, up from 820.09 lakh in FY24, and EBITDA (profit before interest, depreciation and tax) was 7610.98 lakh against 3853.65 lakh.
- Cash generated from operating activities was 5536.56 lakh in FY25, higher than the year's profit after tax of 3076.79 lakh.
- Ferro alloy production reached 69667.45 MT in FY25 against 41637.30 MT in FY24, and sales volume was 71639.65 MT.
- The company has its own thermal, biomass, wind and captive solar power plants. The thermal plant alone generated 186100600 units in FY25, which helps with electricity, a major cost for ferro alloys.
- Borrowings fell to 14294.41 lakh at 31 March 2025 from 17075.68 lakh a year earlier, against net worth of 76597.39 lakh.
- The parent, Godawari Power and Ispat Limited, holds 91.83% and has given a corporate guarantee for some of the company's bank facilities.
Risks
- Demand depends on the steel industry. The company credits FY25 profit to demand in steel and better price realisation, so a weak steel cycle would hit sales and margins.
- Profit swings a lot from year to year. Profit after tax was 820.09 lakh in FY24 and 3076.79 lakh in FY25.
- The parent holds 91.83% of the shares, so minority holders have little say in decisions.
- Dealings with the holding company and its group are significant. In FY25 they included purchases of 798.71 lakh and a corporate guarantee commission of 200.52 lakh paid to the parent.
- Total assets of 111282.32 lakh include investments of 43004.98 lakh, so book value and the fair value gains of 6619.62 lakh in other comprehensive income depend on market values of stakes held.
- Inventories of 17102.03 lakh and other current assets of 7224.48 lakh tie up working capital, while cash and cash equivalents were only 3.51 lakh at year end.
- Deferred tax liabilities rose to 8444.54 lakh from 5734.92 lakh, and the balance sheet carries 11,00,00,000 preference shares.
- The shares are unlisted. Trades happen off-market through dealers at indicative prices, with limited liquidity, and there is no confirmed IPO plan on IPO Guru.
