About

About Lakeshore Hospital

Lakeshore Hospital and Research Centre Limited runs a multi-speciality hospital at Maradu, Nettoor, in Kochi, Kerala. It was incorporated on 4 April 1996 as a public limited company. The hospital treats patients across cardiac care, cancer care, nephrology, neurosciences, orthopaedics and emergency and trauma care. The FY26 annual report shows what the hospital handled in the year. Inpatient discharges grew by 5 percent to 22,098 and outpatient visits crossed 3.5 lakh. The operating theatres handled more than 5,800 major surgeries, and the nephrology department carried out more than 17,000 dialysis and related procedures. The company says emergency admissions grew by around 40 percent over the previous year. On a standalone basis, revenue from operations for FY26 was ₹452.74 crore against ₹407.52 crore in FY25, a rise of about 11 percent. Profit after tax was ₹53.03 crore against ₹39.08 crore, a rise of about 36 percent. The company has no bank borrowings shown on its balance sheet, only lease liabilities. The figures here are standalone because its only subsidiary, Lakeshore Food and Beverages Private Limited, was struck off the register of companies on 22 June 2026. The company is promoter-led. As per the FY26 annual report, Shamsheer Vayalil Parambath holds 42.62 percent and Yusuffali Musaliam Veettil Abdul Kader holds 18.80 percent. The board is chaired by Dr Vayalil Parambath Shamsheer, and S K Abdulla is the Managing Director. In March 2026 the company appointed Abhishek Poduri as Group Chief Executive Officer. The company is not listed on any stock exchange and we do not have a linked IPO for it on IPO Guru. Its shares trade off-market through unlisted-share dealers, so the indicative price of ₹98 is only a reference, not an exchange price. At that price the implied market cap is about ₹980 crore, and the lot size we track is 500 shares.

Strengths

  • Revenue from operations rose to ₹45,273.53 lakh in FY26 from ₹40,752.21 lakh in FY25, about 11 percent growth, on higher patient volumes.
  • Profit after tax grew to ₹5,302.89 lakh in FY26 from ₹3,907.80 lakh in FY25, so profit grew faster than revenue.
  • The company carries no bank borrowings on its balance sheet. Finance costs were only ₹35.92 lakh in FY26, mostly lease interest.
  • Net cash from operating activities was ₹5,664.76 lakh in FY26, above the profit of ₹5,302.89 lakh, so earnings are backed by cash.
  • It held cash and cash equivalents of ₹4,556.08 lakh and other bank balances of ₹4,056.67 lakh as on 31 March 2026.
  • Net worth stood at ₹45,569.93 lakh at the end of FY26 against total assets of ₹55,320.64 lakh, a strongly equity-funded balance sheet.
  • Inpatient discharges grew by 5 percent to 22,098 in FY26, and the board recommended a dividend of ₹2.50 per share.

Risks

  • The company is a single-campus hospital in Kochi, so a local disruption, competition or regulatory issue can hit most of its revenue.
  • Trade receivables rose to ₹5,679.50 lakh at the end of FY26 from ₹3,404.84 lakh a year earlier, a sharp jump that can tie up cash.
  • The FY26 annual report shows ₹129.84 lakh of Employees Provident Fund demands and ₹62.96 lakh of service tax demands as contingent liabilities, with appeals still pending.
  • It leases a medical centre in Kozhikode from VPS Healthcare Private Limited, a company controlled by its Chairman, at ₹7,65,650 per month, a related-party dependence.
  • Capital spending was ₹3,546.16 lakh in FY26, and a renovation programme and a multi-level car park are under way, which need execution and funding.
  • The company has projected turnover of ₹575 crore for FY27, well above ₹452.74 crore in FY26, and projections may not be met.
  • Two promoter-group holders hold 42.62 percent and 18.80 percent, so decisions rest with a small group of large shareholders.
  • Other income of ₹840.52 lakh in FY26 includes interest on deposits, so part of the pre-tax profit does not come from patient care.
  • The shares are not listed. Off-market prices are indicative, trades are thin and there is no exchange price discovery or guaranteed exit.
  • Healthcare costs, doctor retention and medicine purchases are large items: purchase of medicines and consumables was ₹12,858.23 lakh in FY26.
