The IPO market trend our data shows on 8 October 2026 is a gap between day one and now. Across 127 mainboard IPOs listed in the last 12 months, the median listing gain was 6.59%. The median return from issue price today is 27.17%.
What the numbers say
Our tracker holds 127 mainboard listings in the 12-month window. Here is how they stand against their issue prices, using the last stored close for each share, not a live price.
| Measure | Result |
|---|---|
| Mainboard IPOs in window | 127 |
| Median listing gain | 6.59% |
| Median return from issue price now | 27.17% |
| Trading above issue price now | 88 of 127 |
| Doubled or more from issue price | 15 |
| Higher now than on listing day | 78 |
So 78 of the 127 shares are priced above where they closed on their first day. That is about 61% of the list. A debut is one day in a share's life, and the listing gain captures only that day.
Where the best returns came from
The five best performers show how little the first day can tell you.
| Company | Listed | Listing gain | Return now |
|---|---|---|---|
| ESDS Software Solution | Sep 2026 | 76.46% | 232.61% |
| Rubicon Research | Oct 2025 | 27.84% | 216.23% |
| Omnitech Engineering | Mar 2026 | -9.69% | 180% |
| KSH International | Dec 2025 | -3.65% | 165.03% |
| Advit Jewels | Jul 2026 | 36.88% | 158.19% |
Two of the five opened below their issue price. Omnitech Engineering listed 9.69% under and now sits 180% above. KSH International listed 3.65% under and is 165.03% above. Both took months to get there.
ESDS Software Solution is different. It listed only in September 2026 and has already moved from a 76.46% debut to 232.61%. Its figure covers a few weeks, so it says less about staying power than the older names do.
What our data shows
The listing gain and the return now measure different things. The first is a one-day price against the issue price. The second is a price on a later date against that same issue price. Older listings have had more time to move, so the 27.17% median mixes IPOs of very different ages. It is not a promise about any single share, and these are past figures, not a forecast.
The debut median of 6.59% is also modest next to the best names above. Most listings in this window opened close to their issue price, and the spread widened afterwards. Our mainboard IPO performance table lists every company, with its listing gain and current price.
What happens next
The next listings will add to this sample, and the median will shift with them. Prices here are last stored closes and can be a session old. We refresh this trend daily with a new theme.
