Jio Platforms Results: First Report After Listing Shows Profit Up 14% to ₹8,389 Crore

Jio Platforms results for the September quarter are out, the first since its listing. The company reported them on Friday, 30 October, after market hours. Consolidated profit rose 14% from a year earlier to ₹8,389 crore for the September quarter. The shares trade for the first time on the numbers on Monday, 2 November.

What the September quarter looked like

Gross revenue was ₹47,485 crore, up 11.3% on last year. The EBITDA margin, a measure of operating profit as a share of revenue, improved to 54.1%. A year earlier it was 51.6%.

ItemSeptember 2026 quarterChange
Gross revenue₹47,485 crore+11.3% vs last year
EBITDA₹21,879 crore+16.6% vs last year
EBITDA margin54.1%51.6% a year earlier
Net profit (owners)₹8,389 crore+14% vs last year
ARPU per month₹218.8₹215.6 in June quarter

ARPU is the average money Jio earns from each user in a month. The company said promotional offers on fixed broadband held it back, while a better subscriber mix and higher usage lifted it.

What the results say about the business

Profit and EBITDA grew faster than revenue. That means costs rose less than sales did. Revenue also grew 3.3% over the June quarter, so growth did not stall after the IPO.

A telecom business has large fixed costs, so a rise in sales can lift profit by more. The margin gain shows that effect at work. The company also said finance costs rose after it started counting its 5G assets in March 2026.

Subscribers and 5G

Jio's 5G users reached 300 million in September, up 66 million in a year. Fixed broadband customers stood at 30 million. Monthly churn, the share of users who leave, was steady at 1.6%.

Outlets differ on net subscriber additions for the quarter: CNBC-TV18 gives 8.7 million, while Upstox quotes the company statement at 9.1 million.

What our data shows

Jio listed on 28 October at ₹1,358, which was 21.4% above the issue price of ₹1,119. The Jio Platforms IPO GMP had pointed to 21.8%, so the grey market was close. GMP is an unofficial grey market number, not an exchange price.

The last price we recorded was ₹1,431.30 on 30 October, 27.9% above the issue price. That was before the results came out. CNBC-TV18 reports that at least four brokerages began coverage after listing, with price targets from ₹1,340 to ₹1,435.

What happens next
