Jio Platforms IPO Listing on 28 October: Grey Market Premium Is ₹247

The Jio Platforms IPO listing is on 28 October, when the shares start trading on the NSE and BSE. The grey market premium (GMP) was ₹247 on 26 October. That is about 22% above the issue price of ₹1,119.

Key facts before listing

Issue size₹30,213 crore, entirely fresh shares
Lot size12 shares
Money for one lot₹13,428
Allotment date26 October

The company fixed the issue price at ₹1,119 after the book closed on 23 October. As per a Moneycontrol report, this gives Jio Platforms a value of about ₹10.3 lakh crore.

How the grey market has moved

The GMP has stayed in a narrow range since the issue closed. It touched ₹250 on 23 October and has been ₹247 since 24 October.

DateGMPOver issue price
22 October₹24021.45%
23 October₹25022.34%
24 October₹24722.07%
25 October₹24722.07%
26 October₹24722.07%

At ₹247, the grey market is pricing a listing near ₹1,366 a share. For one lot of 12 shares, that gap is ₹2,964. GMP is an unofficial grey market number, not an exchange price, so it can change before the shares open.

How strong was the demand?

The issue was subscribed 22.19 times overall. Big investors like mutual funds (QIBs) bid 70.55 times their share. Retail investors bid 2.72 times.

Retail2.72x
Employees2.93x

Because retail was bid 2.72 times, allotment is a lottery. Our estimate is that about one retail application in three gets a lot. The details are in our final-day subscription report.

Where the money goes

The issue is entirely fresh shares, so no existing shareholder sells. As per the Moneycontrol report, up to ₹27,500 crore goes to repay borrowings at its subsidiary Reliance Jio Infocomm. The rest is for general corporate purposes.

For the year to 31 March 2026, the company's revenue was ₹1,46,885 crore. Its profit after tax was ₹30,053 crore.

What our data shows

This year, 71 of 106 mainboard IPOs opened above their issue price. The median listing gain is 6.92%. Look at the grey market's record too. On the last 10 listings, the final GMP missed the actual gain by 7.4 points on average. It was too high 5 times and too low 5 times.

What happens next

The basis of allotment is due on 26 October. Refunds and demat credit follow on 27 October. Shares list on 28 October. You can check your status on the Jio Platforms allotment page once the registrar, KFin Technologies, publishes it. The full details are on the Jio Platforms IPO page.
