Kanohar Electricals Anchor Lock-in Ends 11 October: Half of ₹316.69 Crore Book Unlocks

The Kanohar Electricals anchor lock-in on half of the anchor shares ends on 11 October 2026, after 30 days. The anchor book was ₹316.69 crore, so about ₹158 crore of it at the issue price becomes free to trade. The stock was at ₹1,183.25 in our data, 87% above the ₹632 issue price.

What is ending on 11 October?

Anchor investors are large funds that bid a day before an IPO opens. Their shares are locked in so they cannot sell straight away. For half of the shares, the lock-in is 30 days from the allotment date. Kanohar's allotment was on 11 September, which puts the end of that period on 11 October.

That date is a Sunday. The exchanges are shut, so the first session where those shares can trade is Monday, 12 October.

Where the share price stands

Kanohar listed on 16 September at ₹685.50, 8.47% above the issue price. The stock has moved much higher since. As we reported on 7 October, it touched ₹1,131 after the company's first quarterly results as a listed firm showed profit up nearly 142%. At ₹1,183.25, the shares anchors got at ₹632 are worth about 1.87 times their cost. Half the book, ₹158 crore at cost, is now worth about ₹296 crore at that price.

That is a paper figure. It does not say any anchor will sell. A lock-in ending only means the shares are free to trade, and many funds hold on past the date. The share price moves through the day, so check the live number before you read anything into it.

What our data shows

The grey market had pointed to a far higher open than the one we saw: our last GMP was ₹190 (30.06%) on listing morning, against an actual open of 8.47%. GMP is an unofficial dealer quote, not an exchange price. The issue was subscribed 90.59x, ranking #26 of 99 mainboard IPOs closed this year, with QIB demand at 215.37x. The comparison with other debuts is on our IPO performance page.

What happens next

The other half of the anchor shares stays locked until 10 December 2026. Anchor details, the allotment record and the live price are on the Kanohar Electricals IPO page. The earlier results story is here.
