General Review

MV Electrosystems makes power electronics for railways. Its main product is the IGBT based 3-Phase Drive Propulsion System for electric locomotives, which is approved by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works and RDSO. FY26 was a weak year on paper. Revenue from operations fell about 21% to Rs 49.43 crore and the company posted a loss of Rs 12.63 crore, against a profit of Rs 1.40 crore in FY25. The loss came mainly from higher staff cost (permanent employees went up from 96 to 208), costly raw material bought earlier for propulsion equipment, and lower margins in control panels. The full issue of Rs 290 crore is a fresh issue, so all the money comes to the company. Rs 180 crore is for long term working capital and Rs 21 crore for research and development.

Listing Gains

The grey market premium has been strong in the run-up to the issue, at around Rs 106, which is close to 25% over the Rs 425 upper price. GMP is an unofficial and unregulated number and it changes every day, so please follow the live GMP tracker and the day-wise QIB, NII and retail subscription figures on IPO Guru instead of going by one reading. Anchor bidding is on July 29, 2026 and listing is tentatively on August 6, 2026 on BSE and NSE.

Short Term Strategy

In the near term, the price will mostly follow the subscription numbers, mainly the QIB part, because not less than 75% of the net issue is kept for QIBs and only 10% for retail. The order book of Rs 921.64 crore as on June 30, 2026 is the main talking point for the issue. On the other side, the company made a loss in FY26, so there is no earnings multiple to compare it with listed peers. Anchor allotment details will be added on this page once the exchanges publish them.

Long Term Strategy

Over a longer period, the main things to watch are how fast the company delivers the 564 propulsion units in its order book, whether margins recover once the old high cost raw material is used up, and whether it can add customers beyond Indian Railways. Net worth went up from Rs 17.91 crore to Rs 62.57 crore in FY26 because of a pre-IPO fund raise of about Rs 59.60 crore, and debt to equity has come down to 0.80.
