IPO Listings This Week: 5 of 8 Mainboard Debuts Opened Above Issue Price

IPO listings this week: eight mainboard IPOs debuted between 5 and 9 October 2026. Five opened above their issue price, one opened flat and two opened below. The median listing gain was 2.28%, and Orient Cables was the standout at +65.44% on a 92.27x book.

The grey market had a number ready for each one. It was close on three and far off on the rest. This is the full table, and what it says about how far to trust the GMP.

Which IPOs listed this week, and at what price?

All prices are NSE opening prices against the issue price. Subscription is the final overall figure from our tracker. The last GMP is the final unofficial quote we recorded before listing.

Four IPOs listed on Monday 5 October, two on Tuesday and two on Thursday. Nothing listed on Wednesday or Friday.

What did the grey market get right and wrong?

The GMP is an unofficial dealer quote, not an exchange price. We compare the final GMP, expressed as a percentage of the issue price, with the actual opening gain.

CompanyLast GMPGMP implied gainActual gainGap (points)
Acevector₹1+3.13%-11.50%-14.63

Nityas Gems & Jewellery₹1+1.33%+6.67%+5.34
Vishal Nirmiti₹2+0.91%-2.27%-3.18

A negative gap means the GMP overstated the gain. A positive gap means the open beat the GMP.

Three of the eight landed within 5 points: Runwal (exact), Vishal Nirmiti and German Green Steel. The GMP overstated the gain on five listings and understated it on two. It was right on none of the big calls.

The two biggest misses

SRIT India drew the most bids of the week, 125.16x, and the grey market priced it at nearly +48%. It opened at +13.85%. The gap of 33.84 points was the widest of the week.

Orient Cables went the other way. Its final GMP of ₹121 implied +44.49%. The stock opened at ₹450, which is +65.44% on the ₹272 issue price, 20.95 points above the quote. It also had the second-highest book of the week at 92.27x.

Acevector is the third. A ₹1 GMP implied a small gain, yet the shares opened 11.50% below the ₹32 issue price.

Did a bigger subscription mean a bigger gain?

Mostly, but not always. The two largest books, SRIT India at 125.16x and Orient Cables at 92.27x, produced the two largest gains. Shah Investor's Home was subscribed 38.12x and opened only 2.40% higher. German Green Steel was subscribed 28.98x and opened 2.16% higher.

The three thinnest books, Runwal at 2.50x, Nityas Gems at 2.25x and Vishal Nirmiti at 1.71x, opened between -2.27% and +6.67%.

What our data shows

On our records, 66 of the 100 mainboard IPOs listed in 2026 opened above their issue price, with a median gain of 6.92%. This week's median of 2.28% is below that. Five of eight opening higher is close to the year's share of about two in three. On the last ten listings before this batch, our tracker shows the final GMP off by 11 percentage points on average. This week's gaps show why the quote works as a mood gauge, not a forecast.
