The company's IPO committee approved the band on 14 October, as per the Reliance Industries filing carried by Moneycontrol. Bids go in multiples of 12 shares. Eligible employees get a ₹54 per share discount.

How big is it?

Hyundai Motor India's 2024 issue of ₹27,859 crore holds the record today. Jio's issue is about ₹2,350 crore larger. LIC's ₹20,557 crore IPO was an offer for sale. Jio's is fresh capital only, so the money goes to the company, not to selling shareholders.

Up to ₹500 crore is reserved for eligible Jio Platforms employees. Up to ₹2,500 crore is reserved for eligible Reliance Industries shareholders. At the upper band, Inc42 puts the valuation at about ₹10.3 lakh crore. Reliance Industries holds 66.43% before the issue.

Where the money goes

Inc42 reports that ₹27,500 crore is meant to prepay borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm, the telecom subsidiary. The other ₹2,713 crore is for general corporate purposes. Our record of the offer document lists the same two uses without an amount split.

What our data shows

The grey market quote on our tracker was ₹206 on 15 October, after ₹218 on 13 October and ₹171 on 10 October. Against the ₹1,119 upper band, ₹206 is about 18%. GMP is an unofficial dealer quote, not an exchange price. On the last 10 mainboard listings, the final GMP was off by 11 percentage points on average. It overstated the listing gain five times and understated it five times. Across 2026, 66 of 100 mainboard listings opened above the issue price, with a median gain of 6.92%.
