Reliance's Jio Platforms IPO Opens 21 October: RHP Filed for 27 Crore Fresh Shares

The Jio Platforms IPO will open on 21 October 2026 and close on 23 October, according to the Economic Times. Jio Platforms has filed its red herring prospectus (RHP) with the Registrar of Companies. The issue is a fresh sale of 27 crore shares, with no offer for sale.

What the RHP shows

The RHP is the final offer document, filed just before an IPO opens. This one gives the dates and the structure. Here is what has been reported from it.

ItemDetail
Issue opens21 October 2026
Issue closes23 October 2026
StructureFresh issue of 27 crore shares
Reserved for Reliance Industries shareholdersUp to ₹2,500 crore
Reserved for employeesUp to ₹500 crore

The shareholder reservation means eligible holders of Reliance Industries shares get a separate quota to apply in Jio Platforms.

What is still a report

The price band is not confirmed in the coverage we read. Reports on 9 October put it at ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 a share. Multiply 27 crore shares by the upper end and you get about ₹30,213 crore, which is also the figure Kotak Neo carried. Reuters earlier reported a target valuation near $106 billion, or about ₹10.3 lakh crore.

If those numbers hold, it would pass Hyundai Motor India's ₹27,859 crore IPO of 2024 as the largest in India. Treat the band as a report until the company announces it.

What our data shows

Earlier reports put the size near $3.8 billion, about ₹37,700 crore. On that figure it is the largest of the 40 IPO filings and plans we have tracked this year. Our tracker also shows 65 companies filing draft papers so far this month. We covered the earlier price band report in our note on Reliance dropping the OFS and the wider picture in our explainer on the listing.

Where the money goes

Kotak Neo reports that up to ₹27,500 crore is meant to repay or prepay loans at Reliance Jio Infocomm, the telecom arm. The balance is for general corporate purposes. These use-of-money details come from reports and should be checked against the RHP.

What happens next

Reports say the anchor book opens on 19 October, allotment follows on 26 October and shares list on 28 October. Those dates are expected, not confirmed. We list every dated issue on the upcoming mainboard IPO page. The Economic Times report on the RHP is still being updated.
