The Jio Platforms IPO GMP stood at ₹250 on the morning of 19 October 2026, according to our tracker. That is 22.34% over the upper price band of ₹1,119. The ₹30,213 crore issue opens on 21 October.
How the GMP has moved
The grey market premium, or GMP, is what dealers quote for the shares before they list. It is an unofficial price, not an exchange figure. Our tracker shows it rising on most days since 14 October.
| Date | GMP | Over upper band |
|---|---|---|
| 14 October | ₹206 | not recorded |
| 15 October | ₹220 | 19.66% |
| 16 October | ₹221 | 19.75% |
| 17 October | ₹223 | 19.93% |
| 18 October | ₹249 | 22.25% |
| 19 October | ₹250 | 22.34% |
The biggest single jump came on 18 October, when the quote rose by ₹26. In all, it is up ₹44 from 14 October. Livemint, citing media reports at 6 am on 19 October, put the range at ₹245 to ₹249.
What the number implies
Add ₹250 to the upper band of ₹1,119 and you get ₹1,369. That is where the grey market sees the shares opening on listing day, 28 October. It is a dealer quote, and it can change by the hour until the issue closes on 23 October.
What our data shows
At ₹30,213 crore, this is the largest of the 105 mainboard IPOs of 2026 on our records. Of the 100 mainboard IPOs listed this year, 66 opened above the issue price, and the median listing gain is 6.92%. A 22% premium is well above that median. But on the last 10 mainboard listings, the final GMP was off by 11 percentage points on average. It overstated the listing gain five times and understated it five times.
Why the quote matters less than it looks
The grey market is thin before bidding begins. Dealers set prices on talk of demand, and the real test is the subscription book from 21 to 23 October. Anchor demand, the split between institutions and retail, and the stock market mood on the closing day can all move the quote in either direction.
Treat the premium as one more data point next to the final subscription figures, not as a promise of where the shares will open.
